Logitech hasn't shown an ounce of recognition of the issue and the list of games that will not work with it will only get longer as time goes on. I guess what I'm trying to say is that, in the long run, you should look to buy a new headset. These days the G35 only comes out when I am absolutely forced to talk to people while playing video games. Luckily, I long ago realized the benefits of an expensive pair of headphones coupled to a real sound card (after the first time I used a pair of Sennheiser's, it ruined me to want to tear my brains out using normal or "gaming" headsets :p ). You should see the rage from consumers at how utterly stupid the Logitech reps are in those threads. Reading that one Logitech rep constantly claim that 7.1 = 5.1 so there's no need for 5.1 support also just makes me go /facepalm. How a purported gaming company is incapable of understanding the difference (which is important, because they honestly sound like they think we're all idiots for thinking their headset doesn't work) blew my mind then and continues to blow my mind today. The sound is always 7.1, but setting the headset to stereo simply emulates stereo while still using 7.1 sound (as opposed to, you know, actually setting it to stereo).
They didn't understand or respond when Crysis or Crysis 2 was released (as an example of a big time PC game franchise), and still keep mumbling that flipping the switch makes it stereo when it absolutely DOESN'T. There's a fairly long list of games that the headset does not work with because of that.
The Logitech response, if you read the thread, clearly shows a complete lack of understanding the issue. :( I'd tell you to complain to Logitech, but there's a thread on their forums asking why the headset isn't capable of downscaling to 5.1 or even stereo (as opposed to emulating stereo as it currently does). I don't like the idea that I just had to uninstall my drivers in order to play this one game. SR77: This still needs to be fixed though.
